We don't have any pets. We have 4 kids ranging in age from 2 to 7. But Theresa came home from Kindergarten on Monday with this little guy:
It was her turn to take care of the class pet, Marty, for the week. Cute isn't he? Well, Marty came with his cage and a few of his toys, but they were scattered all around the cage. Plus, one of the rules to taking care of Marty was that he could only sleep in his cage. Theresa decided Marty needed some comforts of home. So we went to my fabric stash and she chose a couple of prints Marty may like and showed them to him to choose one. Marty settled for a school motif, which I thought was a good choice for a little dog.
Theresa then measured his cage, I cut the fabric and we went off to the sewing machine. Theresa helped me sew by handing me the pins to use on the fabric, push the buttons on the machine and push out the corners of the sewn pieces. She also got to do all the stuffing! So what did we make for Marty?
A dog bed
A blanket to keep him warm
And a drawstring bag to hold all his toys
I think Marty is quite happy with his new stuff
And so is Theresa, but she won't let me take her picture.
I'm not looking forward to the day she has to bring him back to school.
